Project Overview
In general, the design question is: "How can you make locally and sustainably produced food accessible for everyone?". I have chosen as target group for Surinamese pensioners who live in The Netherlands. I have therefore specified the design question. For example, my new design question is: “How can I offer retirees from Suriname locally and sustainably produced food?”. Because these retirees from Suriname, have different experiences with local and sustainable food.

My Contributions
This was the last project of the year. I had to show what I can do without a team. I first questioned the target group by letting them fill in an survey, because of Covid I wasn't able to do an interview which was really unfortunate. I used the customer journey map methode, I made an inspiration wall and I tested my app with the target group to get their opinion.
I had a lot of ideas to make it look amazing but at that time I couldn't make that happen. In the beginning of my second year, I did develop better design skills. I that made de app lay-out exactly how I wanted it. (Old version left and new version below).
What did I learn?
I learned how to work by myself but I can say that I didn't like it that much. I had a hard time finding inspiration and because I had minor skills I couldn't make what I had in mind. Luckily I developed my skills but it still isn't where I want to be at. That is something that I would like to grow in during my next career steps.
Because I worked alone I kept it safe with my design options. I used Adobe XD and when I updated the lay-out I used Figma to develop my skills. I did use new inspiration methods by using the journey map. I do like to use new methods because there is so much to learn and so much information to get out of different methods.
I do believe that working with others and listening to their opinions can make you grow more as a designer/developer, but working alone makes you push your limits.
